Last month I was awarded the Chartered Linguist status for Translation. Since then, we’ve experienced a considerable increase in enquiries about our certified translation service. However, many of our clients are still unsure of what certified translation is. They also don’t know if they need it in their particular circumstances. The glitz and glamour of a red carpet event with flashing lights are rarely part of your average translator’s professional life, however when I tentatively stepped onto the stage to receive my award for winning the Gloucestershire International Businesswoman of the Year last week, I felt as if I was there to also represent the entire translators’ community.
